encuentros
(2021)

Since childhood, stone has been a place of revelation: a territory where matter holds memory and where every fissure contains a story not always visible at first glance. The mineral beauty, hidden within for centuries, becomes a reminder that what is essential often remains protected beneath layers of time, pressure, and silence.

This series is born from that deep attraction to what stays veiled. Stone, with its apparent stillness, harbors a complex universe of strata, glimmers, and textures that reveal themselves only when observation is patient and the gaze turns intimate. The crack—this interruption in the material, this edge between the visible and the concealed—becomes here a space of passage, a threshold from which to imagine inner landscapes.

The works propose a miniature journey through those fragmented territories. Within them, the fissures evoke cliffs, geological folds, and cavities where light enters unexpectedly. They are spaces where what appears rigid opens, where what is closed breathes, where matter becomes metaphor.

In Encuentros, stone ceases to be an object and becomes a language. The crack is not merely rupture: it is access, mystery, beginning. It is the possibility of encountering what lies within, what has not yet been touched by the human hand.

Through this series, the gaze shifts toward that symbolic and silent interior, where beauty emerges not through direct exposure but through revelation. There, in that intimate frontier, is where the work meets itself—and where it also invites the viewer to pause, look, and discover.
