Avance invites us to journey through different milestones of our life path. It is a series about transition, transformation, and the ways in which life shapes us. It teaches us to look inward, to recognize those moments that leave their mark, creating a before and after.

Its vibrant, balanced, and minimalist lines reveal a clear Asian influence — acquired by Teresa during her four-year stay in South Korea — alongside the luminous imprint of the blank paper, reminiscent of an architect confronting an idea on each sheet.

In this series, two creative processes coexist: on one hand, the material, caressed or scratched, symbolizing life’s duality; on the other, the white paper, torn in a process of deep meditation, sometimes tinged by the nuances of each moment’s level of consciousness.

 

Within Avance, three variations emerge, engaging in dialogue with one another:

In Paisaje Interior, the artist seeks a space of calm and contemplation, a symbolic territory reflecting the emotional state of the soul, expressed through color. This series manifests different levels of consciousness: a deeper exploration of perception, awakening, and transcendence.

In Piedra Angular, Teresa descends to the essential: that which supports, the foundation on which our beliefs, values, and roots are built. It is the base on which everything rests and, at the same time, a material that always aspires to the light. In this tension between weight and ascent, the artist finds a symbol of inner strength and transformation.

In all of them, the true protagonist is the viewer and their reflection: each individual’s inner journey. Teresa proposes an emotional path leading to the spiritual, inviting us to discover the pillars of our own story — those vital marks that, instead of wounding, sustain us and help us move forward.
